Summary

The youth theater of the Village Players of Birmingham offers the theatrical event of the summer for youth in the third through ninth grades. Join in the magic in this four-week program that focuses on the development of talent and skills in the areas of acting, singing and dancing. The summer theater arts camp is designed for students with all levels of ability and experience. Working with a creative team (director, music director, choreographer, technical manager), students rehearse and perform a major musical theatre production with full sets, costumes, lighting and sound. The activities of this intensive four-week workshop emphasize characterization, blocking, vocal work and choreography. Additionally, all students participate in set design and construction.

2017 Camp Dates – June 26 – July 21, 2017, Camp Show: The Lion King. Show Dates: July 19 at 7 p.m. July 20 at noon and 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 for general admission seating and are available for purchase at the playhouse only, Monday – Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
