Three engaging women reluctantly take the field in a mothers vs. sons soccer game. Sharing the bench together, they reveal to each other their inner feelings, thoughts, desires and discontents. They come to a greater understanding of themselves and each other that ignites a new resolve to make the most of their various challenges. The soccer game becomes a metaphor for life. All three characters present a fun and fulfilling acting challenge as layers of characterization are revealed. Ability to dance or move well is preferred.

Alison is in her 20s. As the youngest Mom, she wants to be accepted by the others, initially hiding her athletic ability. She struggles with an underlying discontent in her marriage.

Lynn is in her 30s. She is nurturing, organized, a caretaker. She is the perfect PTA Mom.

Nancy is in her 40s. She initially presents as hard, insensitive and domineering. Her softer nature is revealed as she discusses her children, her single life and
her present insecurities and dreams.

Four Young Boys ages 8 to 10 will also be cast in walk-on scenes to interact with the Moms.
They will be double cast, 2 boys per night. Minimal rehearsal will be required.

Rehearsal schedules will be determined after casting. Please bring a list of all conflicts to the audition. Try to read the script before auditions. Call the Players at 248 644-2075.
